When the SIP Satellite Office solution is deployed, remote office IP telephones can access the features and functionality of the MiVoice Business system in the Head Office. The IP phones are deployed remotely as an extension of the MiVoice Business system. Small Satellite Offices (4 to 12 users) have a cost effective solution. Third party gateways provide access to the local PSTN, support for Emergency Services, and analog ports for FAX and On-Premise Extension (ONS) phones. The diagram below illustrates this solution.
The Head Office consists of
the T1/E1 Dual Framer card or combo card to provide PRI communication with the third party PRI/SIP gateway
MiVoice Business analog ports providing FAX support
the MiVoice Business Ethernet port connected to the LAN
MiNet IP phones connected to the LAN
Analog phones and FAX machines connected to the MiVoice Business analog ports
the SIP/ PRI gateway Ethernet port connected with the LAN (T.38 Fax support in the Head Office)
the SIP/ PRI gateway T1/E1 port connected to the MiVoice Business T1/E1 Framer Port (T.38 Fax support in the Head Office)
The Satellite Office consists of
LS Foreign Exchange Office ( FXO) ports on the FXO Gateway connecting to the PSTN
ONS Foreign Exchange Station ( FXS) ports on the FXS Gateway connecting to ONS phones and the office FAX
the gateway Ethernet port connected to the LAN
MiNet IP phones connected to the LAN
ONS phones/FAX connected to the FXS Gateway
The Satellite Office primarily uses MiNet IP Phones. It is recommended that there is a least one analog phone connected to the analog gateway for emergency PSTN access.
The diagram below illustrates the normal operation of MiVoice IP Phones between the Head Office and Satellite Offices.
MiVoice Business always communicates with the MiVoice IP Phone at the Satellite Office using MiNet protocol. This provides full telephony functions to the Satellite Office users.
Calls originating from the Satellite Office IP Phones are handled as MiNet calls by the Head Office.
